On July 26, 2008, a dark shadow fell over Ahmedabad. Nearly 22 coordinated bomb blasts rocked the city, turning a normal day into a tragedy that killed 56 people and injured hundreds more. Yash Vyas was just eight years old when the blasts hit the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital trauma centre. He was there with his father, Dushyant, and his older brother, Rohan. They had gone to the hospital to learn how to ride a bicycle. Tragically, his father and brother were killed in the explosions. Yash survived, but he carried the scars of that day for years. Now 28, he finds the recent High Court judgment appropriate. It is a reminder that while time moves on, the need for justice remains a top priority for survivors.
