Life is full of unexpected turns, but some stories leave us feeling deeply saddened and searching for answers. The recent news regarding 28-year-old Akriti, a young woman from Delhi, has shaken many people. Her life was defined by hard work, love for her family, and a desire for a better future. However, her journey ended in a heartbreaking way that leaves us reflecting on the importance of support systems and mental health awareness.
Akriti was not just an employee; she was a pillar of strength for her family. After her father passed away due to a long illness, she took on the responsibility of supporting her mother and younger brother at the young age of 24. Working as a sales executive, she was dedicated to her career goals and professional growth. In today’s fast-paced world, many young professionals are striving for stability, much like those looking into career development and new opportunities to provide for their loved ones.
Her family recalls her as a happy and resilient person who wanted to see her brother settled before thinking about her own life. Eventually, she reconnected with a former schoolmate and began a relationship with Arastu Sikka. They married on April 24, but her family claims that her life changed drastically after that. The joy of a new marriage was reportedly replaced by conflicts over her job, allegations of dowry demands, and physical abuse. These dark challenges are realities that many struggle with in silence.
Despite the hardships, Akriti chose to return to work just last week. It was a sign of her independence and her desire to reclaim her life. Sadly, only a few days later, she was found dead at an apartment complex in Lodhi Colony, a place where she had no known connections. While the police are investigating this as a suicide, the circumstances have left her loved ones devastated and seeking justice.
There’s more to life than simply increasing its speed.
