Just a day before their highly anticipated special experience event scheduled for March 4, the tech giant went ahead and quietly announced their brand new laptop. That’s right! Apple has officially launched the shiny new MacBook Air powered by the all-new M5 chip in India.

According to the official details, the new M5 MacBook Air is up to 4 times faster in AI-related tasks when you compare it to the previous M4 version. And if you are still using the older M1 MacBook Air from a few years ago? Prepare to be blown away. The new M5 model is up to a massive 9.5 times faster than the M1. Whether you are editing photos, making videos, or just doing your daily work, this laptop is going to feel buttery smooth.
This is probably my favorite part of the announcement. For the longest time, people have complained that Apple’s base model laptops only come with 256GB of storage, which fills up way too fast. Apple finally listened!
The new M5 MacBook Air now starts with 512GB of base storage. Yes, you read that right. Double the space right out of the box! If you are a heavy user who saves tons of massive files, you can even configure it to have up to 4TB of storage.
On top of giving us more space, Apple says the new Solid State Drive (SSD) is up to 2 times faster than the previous generation. This means copying large files, opening heavy apps, and turning on the laptop will happen in the blink of an eye.
Apple is giving us two choices when it comes to screen sizes. You can pick either the highly portable 13.6-inch model or the larger 15.3-inch model if you love having more screen space to work with. Both of these come with Apple’s beautiful Liquid Retina panels that offer up to 500 nits of brightness. This means the screen will look bright, colorful, and clear even if you are sitting near a sunny window.
For all your Zoom meetings and video calls, Apple has upgraded the camera. The new laptop features a crisp 12-megapixel Centre Stage camera. Centre Stage is that cool feature that keeps you in the middle of the frame even if you move around.
Also, for staying connected to the internet and your other devices, the new MacBook Air uses Apple’s W1 wireless chip for top-notch connectivity.
