Christopher Nolan, Matt Damon, and Tom Holland Are Coming to India for The Odyssey Premiere

Exciting news has arrived for movie lovers in India! The famous Hollywood director Christopher Nolan is coming back to India. This time, he is not coming alone. He will be joined by superstar actors Matt Damon and Tom Holland. They are all visiting Mumbai for the grand global premiere of Nolan’s new movie, The Odyssey. This action fantasy epic is one of the most awaited films of the year, and it is ready to release in theatres on July 17.

Universal Pictures International has announced that Mumbai is an official stop on the global tour for The Odyssey. This puts Mumbai on the same level as other big world cities like London, Paris, and New York. The movie premiere will take place at the famous PVR Icon: IMAX at Phoenix Palladium, located in Lower Parel, Mumbai. The exact date for the star-studded event will be shared soon, but fans are already very excited.

Christopher Nolan's Long Relationship with India

This is not Christopher Nolan’s first time visiting India. He has visited the country before for both work and film preservation. In 2018, Nolan and his wife, producer Emma Thomas, came to Mumbai for a special campaign called "Reframing the Future of Film." During that trip, Nolan met some of the biggest stars of Indian cinema, including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Shah Rukh Khan, to talk about saving celluloid film.

Nolan has also shot parts of his famous movies in India. For his 2012 superhero film, The Dark Knight Rises, he filmed key scenes with Christian Bale at the beautiful Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Later, in 2019, he came to Mumbai to shoot action sequences for his sci-fi thriller, Tenet. That movie featured Indian stars Dimple Kapadia and Denzil Smith. Now, with The Odyssey, Nolan is bringing his actual film premiere to Indian soil for the very first time.

Matt Damon and Tom Holland Return to Mumbai

The stars of the movie are also very familiar with India. Matt Damon, who plays the lead character Odysseus, first came to India in 2004. He filmed the hit action movie The Bourne Supremacy in the beautiful beaches of Goa. Since then, Damon has visited India a few times to do charity work with his non-profit organization, Water.org, which helps provide clean water to people in need.

Tom Holland, who plays Matt Damon's onscreen son Telemachus, is also returning to Mumbai. Fans will remember his last visit in early 2023. He came to India to attend the grand launch of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). He walked the red carpet and spent time in Mumbai with his partner and Spider-Man co-star, Zendaya. Now, he is coming back to meet his Indian fans once again for this big film release.

There’s more to life than simply increasing its speed.
