No More Loud Music: Indian Railways Warns Passengers of Strict Action

Have you ever tried to sleep on a train, but your neighbor was playing loud music on their phone? Or maybe someone was talking very loudly late at night? This is a very common problem for travelers. Now, the Indian Railways has decided to solve this issue once and for all. They have warned passengers that playing loud music or creating noise on trains will lead to strict action.

Traveling by train is one of the most popular ways to travel across the country. Millions of people use trains every day to reach their destinations. While it is a cheap and fun way to travel, it can also get very annoying when other passengers do not respect your peace. To make train journeys better for everyone, new guidelines have been introduced by the railway department.

What Are the New Train Rules?

The main goal of these new rules is to ensure a quiet and comfortable journey for all passengers. Under the new guidelines, you cannot play music on your mobile phone, laptop, or tablet without using earphones. This means if you want to watch a movie or listen to songs, you must wear headphones. You cannot play audio on speakers at any time of the day or night.

Additionally, the rules are even more strict during the night hours. After 10:00 PM, passengers are not allowed to talk loudly on their mobile phones. If you need to make an urgent phone call, you must speak in a very low voice so that you do not wake up others in your coach. Also, all lights in the train coach, except for the small night lights, must be turned off after 10:00 PM. This will help everyone sleep peacefully.

Strict Action for Rule Breakers

These rules are not just friendly advice; they are official orders. If someone breaks these rules, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and train staff have the right to take action. The ticket examiners (TTEs), catering staff, and guards on duty are responsible for maintaining peace inside the coaches. If they find anyone disturbing others, they can warn them or even make them pay a fine.

In today's world, rules are becoming very strict to make sure people behave well in public places. We see similar discipline being enforced in other jobs and public services too. For example, even government officers must follow strict codes of conduct online, as seen recently when an inspector was suspended over social media income. It shows that authorities are no longer ignoring bad behavior, whether it is on the internet or on a train.

Why Were These Rules Needed?

This big move has come after thousands of passengers complained to the railway board about noise pollution on trains. People often complain about groups of passengers playing games or listening to music on loud speakers late into the night. Sometimes, these small arguments lead to big fights between passengers. By making strict rules, the railways hope to stop these fights before they even start.

There’s more to life than simply increasing its speed.

This step is also part of a larger effort to improve public comfort and safety. Passengers pay for their tickets and deserve a safe and peaceful environment. Just like we worry about safety in other public areas, such as the recent reports about unsafe Delhi government school buildings, we must also focus on peace and safety during long train journeys.

Tips for Your Next Train Journey

So, what should you do on your next train trip to stay out of trouble? First, always pack a good pair of headphones or earphones in your travel bag. If you are traveling with family or friends, avoid playing loud games or talking in loud voices, especially after dinner. If you see someone else breaking the rules and making too much noise, you can complain to the TTE or the RPF on duty.

The railway authorities have also asked their own staff to be polite but firm when enforcing these rules. Even the railway staff have been told not to make noise themselves. Sometimes, staff members talk loudly among themselves at night, which disturbs passengers. Under the new guidelines, even the staff must keep their voices down during the night shift.

This is a great step forward for Indian Railways. Train journeys should be relaxing and enjoyable for everyone. Whether you want to read a book, look out the window, or take a nap, you should be able to do so without any disturbance. Let us all be responsible citizens and follow these simple rules on our next journey.
