There is currently a lot of talk about the situation inside the Punjab Congress. Recently, AICC General Secretary Bhupesh Baghel visited the Punjab Congress headquarters to hold important meetings. His main goal was to prepare the party for upcoming elections, but things did not go exactly as planned. Some key leaders chose to stay away, showing that there is still some friction within the party ranks.
During the meetings held by Bhupesh Baghel, it was clear that not everyone was present. Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, along with his supporters, kept a distance from the headquarters. Out of three newly appointed working presidents, only two joined the meeting. Additionally, several district presidents were missing, which drew a lot of attention from the media and political observers. Just like the unexpected news about the Palm Jumeirah explosion incident update, this situation has created ripples of uncertainty.
Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, the state Congress president, tried his best to explain the absences. He claimed that Channi had informed the party in advance that he would be away for a few days. Warring also pointed out that some district presidents were currently on the Amarnath Yatra. It is interesting to note how life often mirrors spiritual journeys, much like learning about why 7 Shiva temples touching Shivling is prohibited, where rules and traditions define our actions. Warring insisted that these were just normal meetings and that the party is focused on its strategy for the future.
Partap Singh Bajwa, the Leader of the Opposition, also weighed in on the matter. He believes that minor differences are normal in any large family like the Congress party. He urged all members to stay within their limits and work together. According to Bajwa, it is time for everyone to sit at the table and resolve these issues because the party needs to be united if it wants to bring real change to the state of Punjab. He emphasized that the focus must remain on the upcoming elections rather than internal disagreements.
There’s more to life than simply increasing its speed.

As the party continues its preparations, the leadership is clearly hoping that these gaps will be filled soon. Bhupesh Baghel remains a key figure in trying to keep the party on track. While some leaders feel frustrated, others are calling for patience and teamwork. The coming days will be crucial to see if the dissident faction joins the main group and if the Congress can present a united face to the voters. For now, the party workers are waiting to see how these political developments unfold in the lead-up to the election period.
