Nagpur Woman’s Chilling Ordeal: Blackmail, Assault, and Forced Conversion Unveiled

A truly disturbing story has emerged from Nagpur, shaking many people and raising serious questions about safety and trust. A 24-year-old woman has bravely stepped forward to report a horrific ordeal. She claims she was systematically drugged, assaulted, and blackmailed over 16 months, forced into marriage and made to change her religion. This case is a stark reminder of hidden dangers individuals face, highlighting how manipulation escalates into deep trauma.

The Nightmare Begins

The woman, a property dealer, met Ayyaj Taj Madare, also in the same business. Their connection began professionally. However, things turned sinister when Madare reportedly tricked her into a hotel meeting in Nagpur, supposedly for property discussions. Her complaint states that on February 8, she was offered juice she believes was sedative-laced. She quickly felt herself dozing off.

When she woke up, she realised with horror something terrible had happened. She found herself in a “compromising state,” and Madare was recording "objectionable videos" of her. This act of betrayal and violation marked the beginning of her profound terror. The incident, captured on camera, became his primary tool of control.

Blackmail and Relentless Extortion

Madare allegedly used these private, compromising videos as a potent weapon. He relentlessly threatened to share them publicly or send them to her husband, who works for the Indian Air Force in another city. This made her feel isolated and vulnerable. Under constant threat, she was forced to give him money repeatedly. Over time, Rs 3.09 lakh was extorted from her, through online transfers and cash. This illustrates his financial and psychological control.

Forced Conversion and Black Magic

The situation shockingly escalated. About two months after the initial assault, on May 31, Madare’s friend, Aamin Sheikh, allegedly blackmailed the woman into accompanying him to Tamiya village in Chhindwara. There, they reportedly met a cleric, Hazrat Maulana. The narrative takes a dark turn, incorporating spiritual abuse. The woman claims the Maulana performed “black magic” on her. Under its influence, she felt compelled to accept Islam and enter into a "nikahnama" with Madare. This reveals a chilling layer of manipulation, delving into spiritual and psychological coercion.

Police Action and Justice

The Nagpur police acted swiftly after the woman filed her FIR on June 12. Their prompt response led to the arrest of Ayyaj Taj Madare (26) and Aamin Sheikh (30) the same day. These individuals face serious charges under multiple Sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including alleged rape, extortion, and criminal conspiracy. They also face charges under the Maharashtra Anti-Black Magic Act, highlighting the alleged use of occult practices.
